Designer of the Month – Introducing Rain Design!
Tuesday 31 August 2010 | Keith J. Hamilton
Designer Name: Rain Design
Real Name: Prem Kumar
Contests Won: 80
One thing that really excites me about Mycrobrust.com is the diversity of designers who participate here. From new beginners to seasoned veterans, Mycroburst.com is home to designers from virtually every corner of the world – Individuals who bring forth a wide and diverse range of experience, depth, and detail to graphic designing.
Today, we introduce one such seasoned veteran. One who has been consistently performing on our website and has emerged as our most successful graphic designer to date.
Rain Design has won 80 design contests as of now, the most by any designer on Myrcoburst.com. His successful winning streak is a testament to his hard work and clearly demonstrates his devotion to graphic designing. An energetic and passionate individual who is extremely fond of Jazz music, we sat down with Rain Design recently to ask him a few questions about his thought process, his passion for designing logos and what it takes to be a good designer.
Q1: How did you get into Designing Logos?
A: It has been a long journey. I discovered my love for logo designing at a very early stage of my career, about twenty years ago. As a result I focused more on it and over the years my skills developed to the level they are today. I believe that there is no better way to express your creativity than through designing logos.
Q2: How did you come across Mycroburst.com?
A: My love for logo designing brought me to Mycrobrust.com. I am an avid reader of graphic designing blogs and articles. I read a lot. It’s a great way to keep up-to-date with the graphic design world. One day while reading a blog I came across the Mycrobrust.com link. I already knew that there were many websites around that offered online design competition. My love for Mycrobrust.com started from the very day I became a member.
Q3: Describe your work process? How do you go about creating such beautiful logos?
A: That’s a very good question! Before I start working on any project, I first give it some serious thought and gather ideas. The initial ten minutes are crucial. I simply visualize in my brain and then start drawing what comes to mind. When I am done, I take a serious look at my work and fine tune it to keep it simple yet attractive. I am a firm believer in original work and follow that rule for every project. I always give my very best to every project I work on.
Q4: You have won 80 design contests now. What is the secret behind your success?
A: Believe it or not it’s the Jazz music! I am a big music buff. I have a huge collection of music from all genres in my studio. However I am particularly fond of Jazz and I believe that’s the secret of my success! I get a lot of influence from music. It helps me think more clearly. Another reason for my success is the great support I get from my friends, family, fans and of course the blessings of my late parents.
Q5: How do you deal with competing with other fellow Designers? Surely it must be intimidating at times?
A: There are a lot of talented designers who are active on Mycroburst.com. Every designer is gifted and each has a different style and unique visualizations to offer. Frankly, the only time I get intimidated is when I see my hard work copied.
Q6: How do you go about choosing the projects? Are there any particular criteria that you follow?
A: No. I don’t have any particular criteria for selecting projects. I take each assignment on its merits with the intention of giving it my level best.
Q7: Name three things/attributes that every designer should have or try to incorporate.
A: Think out of the box, be original and read the project details before you start.
Q8: Name three things that designers should always be vary of or should not do.
A: Please be original! Avoid copying someone else’s hard work. Send your design drafts at an early stage so that both you and the client are satisfied when your work gets selected. Avoid entering contests in the final hours and try to rip off other designer’s hard work. This should be avoided at every cost.
Q9: What do you love most about being a designer?
A: I feel very proud of my profession. Every day is a new challenge and gives you the opportunity to show your creativity. As a designer, I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Q10: Lastly, describe your overall experience about being a designer at Mycroburst.com?
A: Personally, it has been a most fulfilling and satisfying experience. MycroBurst.com is a great platform for professionals like me and as well as for new beginners.

I’m not sure why but this blog is loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.

Do you mind if I quote a couple of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your site? My blog is in the exact same niche as yours and my visitors would genuinely benefit from some of the information you present here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Thank you!

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say that you’ve done a fantastic job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super quick for me on Firefox. Superb Blog!

RainDesign is the “IT”. This guy is talented. He worked with me from the very beginning when I requested him to come participate in my project. Every little detail that I requested for him to correct or ammend, he did it with a passion and submitted the final piece of work.
Thank you Rain for your passion and hard work. I love your attitude to work and your zeal.
